Turku, Finland
Turku is most of the time quite empty and not too much interesting city I would say.. But when Vappu comes, things became to change drasticly
Vappu is much more than just Labour Day. You can feel how things start to change even one week before
It's also about students, and you can see them all around in overalls, caring flags...
..taking rest all around parks..
..doing funny sports.
But things really go crazy on April 30th and May 1st, when parties all around hit the town
Rowing race is also organized on the same day
One really important moment is when all people put their sailor caps...
...which they get when they graduate high school, and keep them for life.
And after that, from all parks, people walk next to the river..
..to chill and drink some champagne (or beer, or something else.. to drink).
